i ran into this commercial when browsing and thought the song was pretty cool. so, i did some quick research…real quick, in fact, on IE’s youtube channel description had all the information i was looking for…thought that was pretty cool too actually, usually they wont bother to post things like that.

So, after listening…i really want to remix this song. Alex’s voice and style has a beautiful blend of blues, rock, attitude and rasp but that’s not all. With this song, what really added the extra spice imo is the combination of voice and hook where most of the instruments change…shortened and stabbing kick, synth focused, introduction to snare, then the percussion loop comes back in at the 2nd half of hook. Now, one can argue how played out modulated bassline is but, just like what Dr.Luke’s team did, the bassline doesn’t make up the entire song, instead enhances it with character..and where else is a better place to add character then the hook?

If for any reason Alex Clare is reading this, please send me the stems of your vocals, lol.

The way this is sung reminds me too much of PSD (Pussy Cat Dolls). In any case, love how things sound here…except for what seems like the “rapping” part, not knowing Korean helps also, lol.

Digging the way they implemented the slap bass and synth breaks. Also, i noticed they added “Oww”, “ohh”s and “Ahh”s that reminds you of Timbaland and So Shy’s Song “Morning After Dark”
